Ho Chi Minh City will adjust its agricultural production
in the coming time with an increased proportion of fisheries,
animal husbandry and services to create jobs and increase
income for the people.
The focus will be on growing more vegetables and hybrid
maize.
Mr Truong Hoang, deputy chief of the board for agriculture
and rural development of the city, said the focus will
be on farm economy and on creating preferential treatment
for businesses to lease land for production and enabling
people to work on their land.
In addition, the city will also start equitisation of
agricultural businesses.
The city will also build models of co-operatives in villages
of Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon and Cu Chi.
The city has approved a project to train 100 engineers
and 200 technicians, assigning the agricultural university
to complete the project.
